Pend Oreille River Water Trail Dedication Cermony and River Celebration Day

When: Saturday, August 28th 10 AM - 3 PM
Where: Cusick Boat Launch, Community Center and Fire Station
Description: Celebrate the Pend Oreille River and the new "Water Trails". Try out Kayaks, Standing Surfboards, Fishing Gear and other water toys. Events are all family oriented; fish, bird, plant identification, invasive plant and Quaga mussel presentations, child specific water bug and animal track identification.Learn about Leave No Trace Recreation, Wild Flower Identification, Plant Use, Hydropower, Geology and History of the River.

Water craft such as canoes and kayaks are welcome, and a Stand Up Paddle Board demo and try-outs will be available.

“Campfire Stories”, a new DVD from Stone and Water Productions

Mike Copeland gives us a preview of his new DVD: “Campfire Stories is a lifestyle film that delves a little deeper and takes a look at all aspects of exploring the rivers and creeks around you. From the ultra classic runs to getting skunked trying to find the next classic. Good lines and bad, it’s all featured in this short sneak peek of the film that is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2011.”

Spokane River Kickoff - April 17th

Due to the positive response from previous Kickoff events, a group of local boaters have come together to plan another fun day to celebrate white water sports and bring together our great paddling community. Come out to reconnect with old paddling buddies, meet new people to paddle with, share tales of the rivers, enjoy a free BBQ, participate in the events of the day, check out the many local clubs and organizations involved in white water activities and much more. Bring your Inflatable boats, Cats, Rafts, Canoes, and Kayaks to enjoy the Spokane River.
