Little Spokane River Dinner Float

Not only does this popular trip grow in size each year, but so does the quantity and variety of homemade desserts that get shared during the picnic part of the trip.

This year, we had 25 paddlers. Trip participants were tandem canoeists Marcia and Mark Tracht, Jim Harless and Brian Burns, Bob and Jill Kassa, Mary and Larry Wright, Daryl and Tudi Pitmon, Carol and Eric Erickson, Jerry and Lucy Cesaratto, Erika Steinhardt and Dennis Kruger, and Libby Ward and Bob Snider. Solo canoeists were Dave Luzzo, Sheila Wagner-Harless, and John Roland. Margi Jordan paddled a sit-on-top kayak and her brother, Mark Parks, paddled a white water kayak. Solo sea kayakers were Susan Luchesi and yours truly. I lost track of the desserts that participated, but among them were a blueberry/huckleberry pie, a rhubarb pie, a peach/raspberry cobbler, Rice Krispy treats, a grasshopper pie, and root beer ice cream floats!

We were on the river by 5pm and had wonderful summer weather to paddle in.
